Cova Exhibiting
We were delighted to learn that the OSPA's (Outstanding Security Performance Awards) have recognised our latest Redesigned and Redeveloped manual HVM security barrier, the Miti-Gate®R as an 'Outstanding New Security Product' and placed it as a FINALIST for their 2022 award ceremony.

Our team of expert design engineers have been Redesigning and Redeveloping our popular manual hostile vehicle security barrier (VSB), the Miti-Gate® initially launched in 2012 for the London Olympics achieving PAS68 standards from a 7.5t truck travelling at 40mph.

So, almost 10 years from its initial design, the new improved ‘Miti-Gate®R ‘ is the WORLD'S FIRST product to have been independently tested to meet the very latest IWA-14:2013 standards as well as the CPNI Vehicle Attack Delay Standard (VADS) 10-2019 rating, whilst still retaining the original PAS68:2010 certification.

This means that this improved product can now protect against all types of vehicle threats from a small hatchback car, a 4x4 or a large 7.5t truck.

It is for this reason that it has been recognised as a FINALIST in the UK Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPA’s) in 2022 within the ‘Outstanding New Security Product’ category and is the only nominated perimeter protection product.

The OSPAs recognise and reward companies, people and innovation across the security sector and the black-tie winners award ceremony will take place in London at the Royal Lancaster Hotel on Thursday 24th February 2022. It will be hosted by Paul Sinha the British quizzer, comedian, and one of the six Chasers on the ITV game show The Chase.

The OSPAs are designed to be both independent and inclusive, providing an opportunity for outstanding performers, whether buyers or suppliers, to be recognised and their success to be celebrated.

In a letter sent to Cova by the Director of the OSPAs, Professor Martin Gill, commented "This is a major achievement as we received more entries than ever before, you should feel very proud!"

He also stated "This year’s finalists exemplify the values of the OSPAs. Each one of them has demonstrated outstanding performance in an area of security, be it a company, individual, team, initiative, product or service".

The finalists are judged by a panel of 28 independent experts from across the security industry and is a recognised and prestigious award ceremony across the entire security sector.

On the front cover of the December newsletter by the Perimeter Security Suppliers Association (PSSA) Paul Jeffrey stated, 'Congratulations to all that have made it to the finals and I wish you all the best of luck in the competition.'

The redesign of this product has coincided with the impending Protect Duty Law, which is also at the heart of Cova’s passion to make publicly accessible venues safe and secure.
