2020 for Cova has been one of our busiest in 35 years of design engineering and manufacturing perimeter security products.
Whilst most of our team have been hybrid working - be that remote, semi-remote, office or factory based it's been a very different way of working and doing business for the past 6 months. Despite some challenges, together as a team we've still been able to meet and exceed the increasing demands of fulfilling urgent orders to secure buildings all around the world.
In line with government recommendation for manufacturing to continue during the pandemic, our dedicated Production Team have been working throughout to deliver some very high-profile projects to some incredible deadlines.
In conducting a FAT (factory acceptance test) with a valued client last week (with safe distance measures in place, naturally) we proudly offered them a tour of our 20,000 sq ft facilities to view a selection of our products going through fabrication, fitting, assembly and to see those awaiting delivery and collection.
We were bursting with pride to discover that we had almost our entire product portfolio on display!

FLOATING BRIDGE SECURITY
The three 8m wide sliding gates above and below are destined to secure an international floating bridge with a mixture of HVM and standard gates for their access and egress. In order to provide the most elite marine security possible, together with our help, our client opted for a mixture of the following products in order to achieve their specific high secure solution.
1) 10 x Cova Bi-Folding Gates
A number of the 10 bi-folding gates shown below are destined to formulate sally port areas to enable strict vehicle access control.
Below is our bi-parting miti-gate designed and manufactured to 10m wide and finished in a very specific blue RAL for a newly promoted football team. Available to prevent vehicle impact at either 30mph or 40mph, this manual gate will be installed to protect one of the stadium entrances opposite a very well known 'sausage roll' bakers!
Sitting behind the miti-gate is our 50mph Crash Rated Bi-Folding gate, as mentioned above as well as our newly launched Cova underground top tracked car park gate - CSG 10607.

DATA CENTRE SECURITY
Our 50mph HVM Cova Crash Rated Bi-Folding gate provides the highest level of reliable gate protection and security from a 7.5 tonne vehicle attack. Cova were specified on this project to provide it with a 358 weld mesh (sometimes referred to as prison mesh) for added security and protection as it is destined for a high profile european Data Centre.
As we are bursting for space inside our factory - so we've even had to move some of our products outside in our backyard!
Our full depth road blocker is soaking up the sun along with our 40mph shallow depth bollards all wrapped up on the left in the background, ready for collection by our British cricket stadium client!
